CSE. High Council on Statistics

The High Council on Statistics (CSE) is the the highest advisory body for the state statistical services and for the the social involvement of respondents, producers and users of official statistics.

Its advisory nature is established by the Law on the Public Statistical Function (LFEP), whilst its composition, organisation and functioning are regulated by Royal Decree.

Its mission is to contribute to:

The harmonisation of official statistics
The most efficient use of resources
Greater alignment with users’ information needs
Making it easier for respondents to provide primary data

It is chaired by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Business, and its Vice-Chair is the President of the INE. It currently has more than 50 members, half of whom represent the General State Administration (AGE) and the other half represent various institutions.
