The Standing Commission of the CSE may set up Working Groups to provide operational support for the work assigned to the Council. These working groups are tasked with examining general and cross-cutting issues, such as the National Statistical Plan.
The National Statistical Plan Working Groups are set up with the primary aim of assisting the Council in its role of drawing up proposals and recommendations on national statistical needs and the adaptation and improvement of existing resources, prior to the drafting of the preliminary draft of the National Statistical Plan and the annual programmes that implement it.
The CSE’s proposals and recommendations serve as a basis for the INE and the state statistical services in drawing up the National Statistical Plan.
Furthermore, since 2017, these working groups have been responsible for drawing up a draft opinion on the projects of the National Statistical Plan and the annual programmes implementing it.
