Sectoral Technical Committees have been set up to strengthen user participation in the CSE, with the aim of gathering their views on current statistics, their information needs and proposals for improvement relating to statistics in each sector.
These groups are made up of specialist users and experts from government bodies, businesses, non-governmental organisations, the academic community and researchers.
The committees strengthen communication channels between the producers of official statistics and academia, users, respondents and other stakeholders within the National Statistical System. An ongoing dialogue is established to accurately identify information needs while taking into account the workload placed on respondents.
The creation of these committees forms part of the Propuesta de reforzamiento the High Council on Statistics, which aims to foster more dynamic and effective communication between producers and users through a more robust and effective participatory body.
The Sectoral Technical Committees help the CSE to carry out its advisory role in a more proactive and thematically specialised manner, reinforcing the Council’s independence and assisting the National Statistical System in adapting its statistical production, prioritising relevance, consistency and a balanced workload.
